Sitting on its own triangular block, separated from adjacent buildings by a street on each side (Riverside Drive, 157th Street, and Edward Morgan Place), the Grinnell naturally turns inward towards its peaceful courtyard.

As part of our centennial celebration, Grinnell residents looked out at the neighborhood from their windows and captured the ever-changing cityscape for a photography competition "The World Outside Our Windows."

A group of judges reviewed more than 50 images, looking for artistry and originality, but above all for a distinct sense of place.

Here are the images from the Grinnell centennial photography exhibition.
